Shot Blasting Machines
Compare blasting and vibratory finishing for descaling, deburring and coating preparation.
Technical guidance for manufacturers evaluating deburring, polishing, descaling and edge-rounding equipment.
Shot blasting machines use accelerated abrasive impact to clean, descale or texture surfaces. They are often faster than vibratory finishing for heavy oxide, castings, forgings and profile creation, but they do not provide the same bulk edge-smoothing behavior.
| Process | Best fit |
|---|---|
| Shot blasting | Heavy scale removal, foundry cleaning, surface profile before coating. |
| Vibratory finishing | Deburring, edge rounding, smoothing and batch polishing. |
| Combined route | Blast for scale removal, then vibratory finish for edge and surface refinement. |
